SantaBike

Looks like Santa got his present a little early!
(And yes, he was blaring Jingle Bell Rock over his radio!)

Look, if God didn’t want me to use Egg Nog in my coffee, He wouldn’t allow it to be packaged in the same style container that milk comes in.

CranZen

The secret to Audrey’s delicious cranberry relish? Achieving total Zen between cranberry and orange, of course.

If you’re a Windows user transitioning to Linux, you’ve no doubt been annoyed by the difference in Firefox’s default key binding for Backspace. In Windows it mimics IE, performing the “Back” action. In Linux, it does “Page Up.” The Daily DIY Network posted the fix. It’s as simple as setting the value for browser.backspace_action to 0 in about:config!

Wouldn’t you like to be a pepper, too?

The house on Halloween (after letting the fog from the machines dissipate). Note the huge glowing red eyes staring down on approaching children — just heavy duty garbage bags taped to the windows with eyes cut out and a red lightbulb in the room. But they did the trick… Kids coming up the drive could be heard saying things like “Mommy, it’s too scary. I don’t want candy from there!” One child even confessed to our friends across the street that he wouldn’t come to our house because of the monsters that live on our second floor. Sweet!

Graveyard

Tonight I decided to attempt a ripoff of a mussel platter from Monk’s Cafe, complete with the sweet potato fries and spicy mayonaise. Not quite sure why, just felt like the thing to do this evening… I *have* been up for about 38 hours as I write this… Anyway, I steamed the mussels in a mix of garlic, shallot, fresh basil, and a bottle of homebrewed Abby Ale I bottled in December of 2002. It turned out pheonominal – I dare say it was actually better than the last few times I’ve been to Monk’s!

ThisIsRummy: i am faced with the age old question

ThisIsRummy: do i absolutely waste today

ThisIsRummy: or attempt to go outside

ThisIsRummy: and do something

BobMcCouch: I did something outside yesterday, so luckily I don’t have that dillema.

BobMcCouch: On the other hand, I worked from 1AM to 7AM and then wasn’t sleepy. So I’m useless today anyway.

ThisIsRummy: sweet jesus

BobMcCouch: Except for mindless chores like changing the endless train of poopy diapers.

ThisIsRummy: just a few more years!

BobMcCouch: I hate you.

ThisIsRummy: yeah, but you have a son

BobMcCouch: True, and I get to teach him to hate the things I hate!

BobMcCouch: Like you.

ThisIsRummy: lol

BobMcCouch: It’s the American way

ThisIsRummy: it is actually

ThisIsRummy: you also need to teach him to CONSUME

BobMcCouch: we’re starting that young, too. The 200-or-so disposable diapers he goes through each month will take hundreds of years to break down in land fills.

BobMcCouch: And thats after the hundreds of years it takes the two layers of plastic bags they’re wrapped in to disintegrate.

ThisIsRummy: lol

ThisIsRummy: some of our trash will last into geologic time

BobMcCouch: That makes me feel so significant!

A few months ago I posted about my frustrations with iTunes. With a little motivation from my neighbor Ben across the street, I’ve liberated my music from iTunes and Apple DRM. Read on…

For those of you who have been waiting, we finally got a bunch of pics of Colin up in the gallery. We’ll try to be better about getting new pics up regularly. Enjoy!
